For five years, Silicon Valley took us on an exciting journey, introducing us to lovable and determined tech geniuses. It gave us a closer look at the famous tech hub in California’s Bay Area.

The Emmy-winning HBO comedy ran for six nearly flawless seasons. On December 8, 2019, the final episode aired, marking the end of the beloved series.

Like the previous 52 episodes, “Exit Event” was an enjoyable and satisfying conclusion.

Silicon Valley Season 6 Finale Explained

The Pied Piper software was the idea that started it all. In Episode 7 of Season 6, the world finally saw it. But in that same episode, we had to say goodbye to it, all for the greater good.

That’s how life goes. Some things succeed, while others don’t. Although the Pied Piper project fell into the latter category, it undeniably changed the lives of everyone who worked on it.

We may not have seen all of the loose ends when it comes to the Pied Piper tie-up, but we do see the characters we have all come to love in a ‘documentary’ set 10 years into the future.

Richard now teaches as a professor at Stanford University, which Big Head is the new president of. Dinesh and Gilfoyle have since become proud owners of their very own cybersecurity firm.

Monica works for the NSA, Jared for a nursing home, and Gavin Belson as a romance novelist for an esteemed publisher. On the other side of the coin, Laurie is serving time in prison, and Jian Yang is in exile, having fled to a foreign country long ago.

And the Pied Piper? The last few minutes of the episode reveals to us that the application may still be alive, as Richard has saved it in a flash drive he is still yet to locate.

Will There Be a Season 7?

Fans were generally pleased with how the final episode played out, as our favorite characters received happy endings. But will there be a Silicon Valley Season 7?

Sadly, there will be no more episodes. It was announced in May 2019 that the beloved show would end with its sixth season.

This was the plan from the start. Showrunners Mike Judge and Alec Berg made it clear that they would not compromise the quality of the show for money or ratings.

In the end, everything worked out. While we won’t get to see any more adventures from Richard Hendricks and his team, we’ll always have the memories of a fantastic show.
