Who Will Be in the Season 2 Cast of 1923?
Ford and Mirren will return to their roles. Other returning cast members include Brandon Sklenar (Spencer Dutton), Julia Schlaepfer (Alexandra), Jerome Flynn (Banner Creighton), Darren Mann (Jack Dutton), Brian Geraghty (Zane Davis), Aminah Nieves (Teonna Rainwater), Michelle Randolph (Liz Stratford), and Timothy Dalton (Donald Whitfield).
What to Expect in Season 2 of ‘1923’?
The Paramount+ series continues with the Duttons facing new struggles.
“In season 2 of 1923, a brutal winter brings new hardships and unfinished business to Jacob and Cara on the Dutton Ranch,” the official synopsis states. “Harsh weather and new enemies threaten the family’s survival.
Spencer sets off on a dangerous journey home, racing against time to protect his loved ones in Montana. Meanwhile, Alexandra embarks on a perilous trans-Atlantic voyage to reunite with Spencer.”
Taylor Sheridan, the show’s creator, called season 2 “the second half of the first season” in a December 2022 interview with Deadline.
Sheridan contacted the network, making what was likely their most important call. The request was for more episodes to complete the story.
The plan was to split it into two parts, each with eight episodes. Finishing the story in just two episodes was not possible.
Sheridan mentioned that Ford and Mirren were excited and eager for a second season.
Harrison once told him, “Taylor, I think I’m making the best thing I’ve made in 20 years.” Sheridan replied, “What did you make 20 years ago that was as good as this?”
Is There a Season 2 Trailer for ‘1923’?
Yes, Paramount+ shared a teaser for the new season in December 2024. The video features the Duttons struggling to protect their ranch.
Spencer says the family is losing a fight for their land in Montana. A promise follows to leave Africa and return. “I know what to do. I’m coming home.”
A month later, Paramount+ released the official Season 2 trailer. It confirms Spencer will do whatever it takes to reach Montana and defend his family’s ranch.
“My family is in danger. My wife has lost me, and I don’t have time,” Spencer, injured, says.
His mother, Cara, hopes he can return after discovering Whitefield’s plan to turn Montana into a place for the wealthy.
Whitefield intends to seize the Dutton ranch. “Time to build that army you promised me,” he tells Creighton.
Elsewhere, Cara grabs a gun, ready to fight, as does Jacob. “Of all the things I’ve done for this ranch, this is the worst,” she mutters.
Jacob promises to keep the ranch safe, but Creighton plans to destroy the Duttons. “Get rid of them. I mean, wipe them all out,” he commands.
The trailer chills a message, saying the family must “fight or fall” to stay alive and keep their land.
