Since its debut in 2015, Daredevil has consistently impressed viewers with its thrilling action and gripping storyline. The show earned an impressive IMDb rating of 8.6, which reflected its popularity.
However, in late 2018, Netflix shocked fans by announcing the cancellation of the series. On November 29, 2018, the streaming platform confirmed that there would be no Daredevil Season 4.
Despite the show’s success and strong fanbase, Netflix decided to end it after three seasons. According to a Netflix spokesperson, the decision was made to conclude the show on a high note, as it had received positive reviews throughout its run. Although Daredevil will not return, the character will appear in future Marvel projects.
Daredevil Season 4 vs. Other Marvel Projects?
Daredevil follows the journey of Matt Murdock, a young boy who loses his sight but gains heightened senses after a tragic accident. After his father’s death, Matt becomes Daredevil, a vigilante fighting crime in the night.
Netflix’s focus on various other projects played a role in the decision to cancel Daredevil Season 4. Additionally, Sony is planning to launch its own streaming service and has begun reclaiming rights to several movie and TV franchises.
While the exact reasons behind the cancellation are unclear, this move by Sony may have contributed to it.
Although Daredevil is no longer part of an official TV series, the character will continue to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future.
