In Season 3 of Anne with an E, we saw Anne step into a new phase of her life. The final episode gave us hope, leaving us eager for Season 4.

However, we regret to inform you that there will be no Season 4.

Based on the 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables, this Canadian drama was co-produced by CBC and Netflix. It first aired on CBC on March 19, 2017, and Netflix premiered it internationally on May 12, 2017. The series follows Anne as she arrives at Green Gables and begins her new life.

Season 2 aired on CBC on September 23, 2018, but Netflix released it earlier, on July 6, 2018. Season 3 premiered on CBC on September 22, 2019, and on Netflix on January 3, 2020.

In Season 3, Anne settles into Avonlea, ready to discover her origins and identity. The last episode ends with an open-ended conclusion, leaving Ka’kwet’s story unresolved.

Typically, viewers would expect to see what happens next in a potential Season 4. However, on November 25, the day after CBC aired the final episode of Season 3, CBC president Catherine Tait announced there would be no Season 4.

Anne with an E Season 4 : Permanently Derailed

The reason behind the abrupt ending to the series is that CBC and Netflix are no more ready to work together. Fans in Canada have expressed their disappointment ever since the news broke. Indeed, Anne was a character loved by all viewers of the show.

The show has received really good reviews and ratings from the audience, along with several awards in 2018 and 2019. We still pray that a Release Date of Anne with an E Season 4, comes out soon but that will only happen in case the dispute ends between the producers.
